General Manager (Front of House).
Full time, Monday to Sunday, 5 days a week
We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking General Manager.
With around 50 employees across the site we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills to lead a motivated team. This is a very hands-on role, and the successful applicant will be at the forefront to ensure our customers enjoy a positive experience.
The Role:
To oversee and manage all operations at Battlefield 1403 Farm Shop, Café and Exhibition, working closely with our Head Butcher and Kitchen Manager. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on manager to develop and lead our amazing team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in catering and retail, creativity, the ability to see an opportunity and work with a team to maximise sales, improve margins and maintain a high-quality customer experience.
The general manager will be responsible for: recruitment, induction, training and development of all front-of-house staff; management of all aspects of the Café and farm shop operations on a day-to-day basis; ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies regarding health and safety, food hygiene, and staff management.
We are looking for someone who is keen to drive progress and develop in the role. The role will be across all areas of the business including face-to-face in the café and shop, team leadership and business development therefore presenting an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a varied role.

Kitchen Assistant/Food Production Member.
Battlefield Farm Shop and Cafe is a busy family run, on-farm visitor destination. The Battlefield kitchen is central to many of the site activities seven days a week, catering for the cafe, making a growing range of home produced food for the farm shop and catering for various events of different sizes both on, and sometimes off site.
The successful applicants will have a keen interest in food, (in particular locally sourced), will be able to work under pressure, follow recipes and work within a friendly team who will provide training and day to day guidance. The role will include production of food for our farm shop and deli, and also some work in our bakery making cakes, tray bakes and some breads.
Commercial kitchen experience is preferred although not essential, however a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to learn and develop as part of our team is essential. Level 2 food handling training or refresher training will be provided as necessary.
The role is full time and permanent. Weekends will be required by rota (usually alternating).

Café Assistant.
We are looking for a hard working, reliable person to join our busy cafe team. The right applicant will be calm and focussed while being polite and friendly ensuring that every customer to the cafe receives excellent service.
Key duties will include all aspects of cafe customer service including; taking orders, advising on food and drink products, communicating messages to the kitchen, taking food and drink to the tables, communicating with customers throughout their visit, taking payments, and routine cleaning duties.
The role is full time and permanent. Weekends are required by rota, usually alternating.
Finding the right person is paramount to us therefore while past experience is not essential, it is ideal. Training specific to our cafe will be given.
